Gillian - Loads of rocks

Today we did two big things. First we went to the island of spinlonga. It is the island that was fought over my Venetians, Turks and the regular greeks just trying to live there. Then the island was used as a jail and then most famously as a leper colony. We took a boat from the port town called Plaka. Spinlonga is basically a rocky island that people built houses on. Then the fighting happened and the invading peoples built it into a fortess. So there is loads of crumbling walls and houses.  It was nice to explore.

Next we drove to psychro cave one of the caves claiming to be the birthplace of Zeus. You could ride a donkey up if you wanted, but we didn't. The cave was very deep and spacious. It had a little pool of water at the bottom and many dark spaces beyond the safety ropes. On the way I regailed Barbara with snippets of greek mythology I could remember.

On the way home we wanted to eat fresh fish. So Barbara saw a town she liked and we drove there by accident. Fantastic luck we found a fresh fish restraunt on the water front. My lego dude had a nice time.
